It works, but it breaks me out July 31, 2010 liz blue eyes I loved this- it seemed to add a bit of extra exfoliation to my skin without irritating it. And it smoothed out even the faint trace of lines I have around my under-35 eyes. My mom had a furrow between her brows which seemed permanent- but seriously, this product got rid of it! Amazing. However...sadly, this broke us both out within a couple of weeks of using it. My mom used it solely with Purity cleanser (which doesn't break her out), so no, it wasn't another product or a reaction of combining with something else. Such a shame, because it turns the clock back on your skin, and that is a RARE product which accomplishes said goal. The price of this is high, but for the results, it's worth it- if it doesn't bother your skin.
Great product for tough acne/blocked pores July 14, 2010 Willard E. Meadows (Bellevue, WA United States) Love this product. Middle aged guy here with clogged and big pores and crazy sensitive skin. Unlike other retinol creams, acne lotions, or even so called "regenerating serums", this one doesn't make my skin red, peel, or hurt. I've got cystic-type acne and it's difficult to both prevent it and clean it up. This product is a godsend for me. This product does make my skin oilier, but that is because it is opening up the pores I think. Oh, and it works well in evening out my skin tone. I use this with the Philosophy Exfoliating Cleaner and it's a wonderful combination for me...less acne, smaller pores, better skin tone, etc.
Best Product for Adult Acne February 23, 2010 Melissa 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have been using Proactiv for years to control my acne however now in my 30's my skin has become uneven and dull looking. I needed to get a product that was anti-aging and still control my breakouts. After doing some research retinol was a proven ingredient so I decided to give Philosophy's Help Me a try.
This product is amazing! I noticed a difference in about 2 weeks. Since then I trust the Philosophy name and ordered other products and my skin has become make-up optional.
Not worth the $ October 5, 2009 Brett Ashley (Minneapolis, MN) I was willing to pay this much if the product did something fabulous for my skin. It did not. I've been using it every night with absolutely no results, except that I seem to be getting pimples from it. If you're looking for a dramatic change in your skin, keep looking.
Finally, a great product! September 7, 2009 B00KW0RM 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I recently had a horrible reaction to prime time oil control primer from bare escentuals and had lots of acne and acne scarring as a result. I was incredibly distraught and tried product after product to help take care of the situation. I finally discovered this product from Philosophy and for about a week and a half now I've been using the retinol night cream in conjunction with Philosophy's Hope in a Jar facial moisturizer. The improvement is amazing! My acne is pretty much gone, the scars are fading fast, my skin tone looks much more even, and my skin looks (and this is a quote from a friend) "fresh and glowing". This is, hands down, the best product I've used yet...it even beats out topical prescription treatments in my book. It's worth the money, no question.
