1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money   September 9, 2010
Reading & Writing 24/7 (Southern California United States)
I have large pores that clog easily, and have always struggled to find something that helps. I've done laser skin resurfacing, photofacials, professional microdermabrasion, etc etc. I saw the Chrystalift and did some research on it. I'm a good researcher and a skeptic, and I don't spend money recklessly. I wonder now why I bought this thing. I was suckered. On their website they have quotes like, "stars are finding this 'face-lift in a box' so effective, they're opting to use it instead of Botox." That's from InTouch magazine. And then, "A single microderm treatment costs as much as this entire machine" from NBC. The website calls it an "age fighting machine" and says it "softens wrinkles" and "fades age spots."

Well, at my over-45 age, all those things are important. So I bought it, and have now used it for several months. And I can tell you - DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I kick myself every time I think of how easily conned I was. I WANTED to believe their claims. But the truth is, you can get the same results from the Neutrogena dermabrasion brush at about $15.

To add insult to injury, the refills are $10 each. They should be about $2 each. And they know that, because they make a huge point of saying that if you use any other crystals in the machine, they'll cancel your warranty. My guess is that they're going to have to lower their refill price pretty soon or they'll have a consumer revolt on their hands. They're no doubt hoping they can do what Gillette has done - charge outrageous prices on refill cartridges. Sorry, Crystalite - I don't think it will work for you.

DON'T be fooled. Save your money for something else instead of wasting it on Crystalite. Instead, get a cheap dermabrasion brush and get the same results. Then you won't suffer the regrets that I do.

One more note: If you already have the Crystalite, at least save yourself some money and order aluminum oxide crystals online for a tiny fraction of the price!!! If I bother to use the machine again, that's what I'll do.

2 out of 5 stars Not really the bang for the buck!   October 15, 2009

the machine is good, but the wand clogged up twice and I did get it replaced but it continues to be a problem. Initially, it worked great. After about 6 months it did not seem like I was getting results. Overall, I was disappointed. I still have the machine but no longer use it.

Supplies are costly, suction creates red blood vessel mini bruises that photorejuvination heals at a cost of $250.00 If you, like me, already bought it, you can refill empty capsules with powder you buy at about $12.oo/oz which is 4 or more full applications. Simply rip off the rubber tip of their capsule, without ruining the cut on the top, fill it with "cheap" powder , and then reattach rubber cap with a thin strip of scotch tape. It seems to work! When the collection container fills up, simply shake it out. Perhaps, you can find a more efficient way,but I didn't. I ended up cutting my monthly cost from 39.99 to less than $10.00.

Loved, it's really good, just a little weaker than the doctor's. the suctions can be controlled! I'll use once a month cause i'm 29 and so there's no reazon to use 4 times per month. I loved it!!!you have to buy the refills for later.

I actually stumbled upon this product while in LA - at a dermatologist office. I tried it in person first and was impressed at how strong the suction was for a consumer product. They offered to let me come back as often as I wanted for the next 30 days to continue to use it on their dime. Since I was not local I decided to give it a 30 day in home trial. I used it at home with ease. Like another reviewer said, one generous use only used half of a capsule. The next week my sister was visiting and she tried it with me and loved it. So much so, that she bought one. The following week my sister from NY was visiting. She tried it and liked it too and is now contemplating a purchase.

I used to get monthly microdermabrasion but the cost really adds up, so I do it infrequently now. I was skeptical that this machine and the crystals could really be as effective as the real deal. But having used it for 2 months now, I am sold. My skin is softer, fresher and clearer. At age 45 my skin is in pretty good condition but was beginning to look a bit blotchy. Since using this my skin looks much improved - I have gotten several compliments on how good my skin looks. I am very happy to have an affordable way to "treat" myself to taking even better care of my skin. Living for years in So Cal, I have been very conscious of good skin care. But this allows me to take it up a notch at a very affordable price.

If you appreciate the results of a professional microdermabrasion session, you will be impressed with the Crystalift machine. I would definitely recommend it. (And I do not work for anyone affiliated with the product, I just wish I had some reviews to read before I bought it!)
